Alyssa started Cultivate Play, PLLC in 2024 in response to a lack of neurodiversity affirming providers in the middle Tennessee area. She received her undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Exercise Science, and her Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) degree from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. She has experience in a variety of pediatric populations, but specializes in neurodiversity affirming and strengths based care, including but not limited to, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance / Persistent Drive for Autonomy (PDA), etc. Alyssa is also neurodivergent (ADHDer), so she understands first hand many of the unique experiences of our neurodivergent children and their families. She is a certified DIR Floortime provider and uses these techniques often in her practice. She is passionate about home/community based care to enhance authentic and meaningful participation. Alyssa currently lives in Murfreesboro, TN, and enjoys crafting, spending time outdoors, and traveling in her spare time.

Valerie is passionate about helping children grow through play. She believes the best therapy happens when children feel seen, heard, and are excited to play. She uses a child-led, play-based approach to meet each child where they are, turning their interests into opportunities for growth. Her goal is to create a supportive and fun environment where kids can build skills, confidence, independence, and be themselves!
