NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!
I have provided a list of my most frequently recommended resources. If you find another resource you love, feel free to let me know!
This book is great for adults who want to learn more about their children or themselves or for older teens to learn about themselves. It focuses on masking, autistic strengths and stereotypes, finding your support system/meaningful relationships and discovering who you are.
This is one of my all time favorite books to recommend to families. It breaks down the neuroscience research in an easy to read format and goes in depth about the importance of viewing our kids holistically, honoring their individual differences, and using a relationship and developmental approach to our interactions to truely understand the child and their behaviors. The focus is to seek understanding, and help our children build resilience and secure relationships.
This is a great resource for parents and educators on understanding how to help PDAers succeed with school and learning.
This book reframes autism in a strengths based and neurodiversity affirming lens.
This book breaks down the importance of play on childhood development and gives practical strategies to help families feel more comfortable playing with their child to aid in emotional regulation, critical thinking skills, and more!
Both authors are leading experts in ADHD and executive functioning. This book helps break down many of the challenge areas that our kids face and gives strategies to build up strengths while also supporting/accommodating for weaker areas. There is also a teen and adult edition of this book!
This book is focused on the neuroscience of emotions and brain development. It discusses the role of different areas of our brain on our interactions and behaviors with emphasis on how our the survival part of our brain (think fight/flight/freeze) can overrule the thinking part of our brain to help us understand our children and provides strategies to aid in children's development. (All of Daniel Siegel's books are highly recommended!)
